Contemporary Dance Music for Class Volumes 2, 3, and 4 by Michael Price
The music for any type of dance class plays an important part in enhancing the energy or atmosphere required. Live musicians are the best solution for this but can be costly or unavailable! Music for contemporary classes can be difficult to acquire; however, Michael Price, a composer and producer, has developed three CD's specifically for this purpose and they are a high standard substitute for live players.
Contemporary dance music volumes 2, 3, and 4 offer a variety of pieces of varying length and speed. The inlay for each indicates that some tracks are suitable for a warm-up, stretches and a swing for example, but there are also longer pieces to allow for fuller sequences and combinations. There is also use of unusual time signatures, which will provide a challenge for teachers and students alike!
Price uses piano and keyboard for the majority of each of the three CD's, but percussion, bass and guitar are also included. There are many different sounds and rhythms within each CD which should enable suitable inspiration for any contemporary dance class.
